U.S. to Finalize Ukraine Proposal and Submit to Russia; Multilateral Talks Last Six Hours
According to Reuters, the United States intends to finalize a proposal to end the conflict in Ukraine within the coming weeks and submit it to Russia. Negotiations involving France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the European Commission, and NATO lasted for six hours.
Reuters cited sources stating that the U.S. aims to conclude a concrete proposal addressing the termination of hostilities in Ukraine within the coming weeks, followed by its submission to Russia.
Stephen Viethoff, the U.S. President’s Special Representative, said during the talks that resolving the conflict before the onset of winter was under discussion. In addition to U.S. and Ukrainian negotiators, representatives from France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the European Commission, and NATO attended the meeting.
Media reports indicated the discussions spanned six hours, during which proposals for halting military operations were considered.

Earlier, Axios cited sources saying that U.S. negotiators Stephen Viethoff and Jared Kushner may visit Moscow in late October to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow has consistently welcomed visits from Kushner and Viethoff, including if they choose to share outcomes from their current engagements with Ukrainian representatives in the United States.
