Foreign media: According to the 2025 Global Digital Competitiveness Ranking released by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), China ranked 12th among 69 economies worldwide, setting a new historical high, up two places from 2024.

China performed outstandingly in multiple sub-items under the two key pillars of "Knowledge" and "Technology," especially ranking third in "Scientific Concentration," with its research and development productivity, AI-related patent output, and the use of robots in education and research all being among the world's best.

Additionally, China ranked 7th in the sub-item of "Capital," and second in private AI investment. Nevertheless, the report also points out that trade fragmentation may have a negative impact on the digital competitiveness of global economies, as trade tensions are gradually affecting data flows, technology standards, and investment priorities.
