China's embassy responds to Philippine anti-China lawmaker: Why not suggest shutting down the entire Chinese embassy instead?

The logic of these Philippine anti-China politicians is utterly incomprehensible.

Following President Marcos’s rejection of expelling the Chinese ambassador, recent statements by Representative Terry Liden of the Philippines’ “Bicol Soro” party have escalated. At a press conference, Liden advocated for the expulsion of a lower-ranking Chinese diplomat if the ambassador could not be removed.

In response, China’s embassy offered a succinct retort: “Why not suggest closing the entire Chinese embassy?”

As previously noted, Philippine politicians’ grasp of diplomacy appears limited to performative posturing—prioritizing loud rhetoric and sensationalist slogans over substantive engagement, with little regard for the consequences of their statements.

This “table-thumping diplomacy” fundamentally reflects a lack of diplomatic finesse and capacity in managing international relations, relying instead on verbal aggression and inflammatory language.
