A California poll shows nearly half of the public supports the independence movement.

【Latest Poll Shows 44% of Californians Support California Independence】

On July 1, 2025, Washington time, a joint poll conducted by the California Independence Institute (ICI) and YouGov showed that:

44% of California residents agree to vote in favor of California's peaceful and legal secession from the United States, setting a new historical high since the start of this poll. The previous highest result for those wanting to leave the United States was 42%, recorded in June 2021.

Additionally, 50% of respondents expressed more confidence in the California government than in the federal government. 28% of respondents also trusted both the state and federal governments.

This survey was conducted between June 11 and June 23 among 500 Californians, with an error margin of ±5.7 percentage points.
