【Russian forces launch a new wave of attacks on the Azerbaijani State Oil Company base in Odesa region】

Azerbaijani media Minval reported that early on August 18, Russian "Shahed" drones attacked the oil base of the Azerbaijani State Oil Company in the Odesa region. Multiple drones directly hit the target, causing all 17 oil storage tanks within the base to be damaged, as well as pump station buildings, operation and metering rooms, technical rooms, and fence facilities.

The report stated that the oil base has a storage capacity of more than 16,000 cubic meters, and emergency repair work has already been initiated. The Ukrainian State Emergency Service confirmed that a large-scale fire occurred at an energy infrastructure in the Odesa region due to drone attacks, and there are currently no reports of casualties.

Previously, Russian drones had also attacked this Azerbaijani oil base in the Odesa region on August 8, causing damage to the base's infrastructure. Two days earlier (August 6), the same area's "Orlovka" gas compression station was also attacked by drones. This compression station is a key facility for Azerbaijan to transport natural gas to Ukraine. Azerbaijani President Aliyev accused Russia of carrying out "deliberate air strikes" on its oil bases and other related infrastructure in Ukraine.
