Foreign media: Volkswagen Group of Germany is in advanced talks with India's JSW Industries, planning to sell a partial stake in its Indian operations. The deal is expected to be finalized within weeks, with JSW investing in Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited to strengthen capital and bolster the subsidiary's capabilities.
Skoda declined to comment on the matter but stated it is actively evaluating various growth opportunities in the Indian market; JSW has not responded yet.
This move comes as Skoda shifts focus from China and exits Russia, placing full emphasis on India—the world’s third-largest automotive market—as a key source of growth beyond Europe. The company’s CEO previously indicated that if no local partner is found, Skoda would proceed with independent investment.
