Pakistan calls the attack on Putin's residence a threat to world peace and security
Pakistani Prime Minister Shabaz Sharif stated that Pakistan condemns the attempted attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin's residence. He wrote on social media platform X: "This despicable act constitutes a serious threat to peace, security, and stability, especially at a time when all parties are making efforts to achieve peace."
Shabaz emphasized that Pakistan stands with the Russian president, government, and people in this incident.
Previously, the governments of the United Arab Emirates and Nicaragua have also condemned the attack on Putin's residence.
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov reported the incident of drones attempting to attack Putin's residence on December 29. According to his account, the Ukrainian armed forces deployed a total of 91 drones, all of which were intercepted by the air defense system.
Lavrov pointed out that Kyiv's actions will not go unanswered, and the target and timing of retaliatory strikes "have been determined." He said that Moscow's position in negotiations will be adjusted after the incident, but Russia does not intend to withdraw from the peace process.
President's assistant Yuri Ushakov added that the attack occurred shortly after talks between US and Ukrainian representatives. Putin has informed US President Donald Trump about this incident. Ushakov said that the reaction of the US leadership was extremely emotional, expressing "shock" and "open anger."
The Ukrainian authorities have strongly denied the accusations of involvement in this attack.
