New protests are brewing in western Kazakhstan. Ordinary employees of the local branches of the monopoly company "Kazakhstelkom" have initiated actions against social injustice.
In the capital city of Mangystau Region, Aktau, "Kazakhstelkom" employees sent video appeals to the company's management, expressing their dissatisfaction with the compensation system. They pointed out that there is a huge gap in bonus distribution: senior executives receive bonuses equivalent to 10 months' salary, while ordinary employees who bear the main workload only received 20,000 tenge (approximately 3,300 rubles).
The employees believe this phenomenon is extremely unfair, especially against the backdrop of continuous increases in the prices of essential goods and utilities. They stated that wages have not been adjusted according to inflation, leading to a continuous decline in the actual standard of living.
It should be noted that the attempted coup in January 2022 in Kazakhstan was triggered by protests in the Mangystau Region caused by the rise in the price of automotive gas.
