【By Observer Net, Zhang Jingjuan】Despite President Trump's efforts to quell the controversy surrounding the Epstein case, a rift has quietly emerged between Trump and some of his supporters.
According to the U.S. "Politico" news website, far-right activist Laura Loomer warned in an interview on the 16th that Trump's handling of the Epstein-related investigation could "consume his presidency."
The report stated that as a close confidante of Trump, such a harsh accusation highlights the growing divisions within the "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) faction.
Loomer said, "Clearly, this is not entirely a hoax because Epstein's associate, former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, is currently serving a 20-year sentence in Florida, and we all know that Epstein was a convicted sex offender. That's why I have said, and I will reiterate, that the best course of action for Trump is to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Epstein documents."
However, Loomer, who was once seen as someone who could influence Trump, does not plan to completely break with the president.
"I won't (join others in) attacking the president," she said, "but he can't let all his energy and attention focus on the Epstein documents. Do I think this is handled poorly? Of course."
After the interview, Loomer posted on the social media platform "X," reiterating that "this diverts attention from the outstanding work Trump has done for 'Make America Great Again,' and I fully support Trump."

As U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi faces stricter scrutiny for repeatedly avoiding questions about the Epstein documents, Loomer said there are people in the White House who share her view that Bondi appears on Fox News too much and her statements are inconsistent. Previously, Loomer had called for Bondi's dismissal.
According to reports, other well-known MAGA supporters have also warned that if Trump does not change his approach, his popularity among supporters may suffer serious damage.
A poll released by Quinnipiac University on the 16th showed that 63% of voters disapprove of Trump's handling of these documents. There is a split within the Republican Party: only 40% support his approach, 36% oppose it, and another 20% remain undecided.
Mike Flynn, who served as National Security Advisor during Trump's first term, wrote a long article on "X," stating that Trump needs to "gather his team and find a way to get through this crisis."
"The way this is being handled is terrible," Flynn wrote, "Americans want America to succeed, so we need you (Trump) to succeed."
Mark Mitchell, the director of polling and operations at the American polling firm Rasmussen Reports, said on Steve Bannon's personal podcast "War Room" on the 15th that some people are trying to say this isn't a big deal and no one wants the information about Epstein to come out, "which is completely misleading."
He warned that if not corrected, it could undermine Trump's agenda and drain his political capital.
"This is not about a person who died in 2019, but about the manifestation of a dual judicial system and an irresponsible government," Mitchell told Bannon.
Recently, the new round of review of evidence related to the notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein by the Trump administration caused confusion, leading to a division within the MAGA faction over how the government is handling the case.
Supporters had originally hoped that the Trump administration would confirm their suspicions: that a larger conspiracy involving Epstein and other elites was covered up by the government.
However, a memo released last week by the Department of Justice and the FBI shattered these speculations. The memo stated that after a "thorough review," they found no evidence that the convicted sex offender Epstein extorted prominent individuals, kept a "client list," or had other documents worthy of public disclosure, and stated that Epstein's cause of death was suicide.
This two-page memo angered some Trump supporters. U.S. Attorney General Bondi became the target of attacks due to this report. However, when Bondi was attacked, Trump strongly defended her and watched a football game with her.
On the 16th, Trump publicly criticized several MAGA supporters, accusing them of "falling into the Democrats' trap."
In a post on his self-created social media platform "Truth Social," Trump stated that the "Epstein hoax" was a lie fabricated by Democrats, and that his former supporters had fully accepted these "nonsense."
He angrily wrote, "They didn't learn from their mistakes, and they may never learn, even after being deceived by the Democrats for eight years. What I have achieved in six months might surpass any president in our country's history, yet these people want to talk about the Epstein hoax under the strong incitement of fake news and ambitious Democrats. Let these weak people continue doing so, working for the Democrats, and stop talking about our incredible, unprecedented achievements, because I don't need their support anymore!"

Previously, Trump also criticized the credibility of the federal investigation into Epstein, claiming that the relevant documents were "fabricated by FBI Director James Comey, fabricated by Obama, and fabricated by the Biden administration."
It is worth noting that Maureen Comey, the daughter of James Comey and a senior prosecutor who previously sued Jeffrey Epstein, has been fired by the U.S. Manhattan District Attorney's Office.
A CNN report citing sources said that Maureen Comey recently participated in the case of "Puff Daddy" Sean Combs.
The reason for her dismissal is unclear, but a source said that during the Trump administration, it was difficult to maintain the identity of a "Comey family member" because her father Comey "has been targeting this administration."
James Comey is a critic of Trump and is under criminal investigation for possible misconduct during the Trump "Russia dossier" investigation.
