On the morning of August 7, there was an update on the domestic security situation in Pakistan. The situation over the past day was very bad, according to Pakistani media and the Pakistan Associated Press:

1. On the night of August 5, the Pakistani army was attacked by Baloch separatist militants with a roadside bomb in Nushki district of Balochistan province, resulting in the death of three people, including a major officer (Rizwan Major, Naeem Subeda Amin, and Lance Naik Yousaf). Three others were injured. (Figure 1 is this major.)

2. On the night of August 5, three men were killed by unidentified gunmen at the Mithani Railway Station in Peshawar, including a police inspector (local police chief, approximately equivalent to a captain) Ali Hussain, who may have been the target of assassination. (Figure 2 is the scene, Figure 3 is this police inspector.)

3. In the Amankot area of Kharqal district, Khyber Province, a border force unit responsible for protecting oil and gas companies was attacked by the Pakistani Taliban, and a pickup truck was turned into a sieve, resulting in the deaths of four soldiers and one driver, and three others were injured. Some weapons and ammunition were taken by the TTP. (Figures 4 to 9)

4. In the Rakhmarwatt district of Khyber Province, a Pakistani border force soldier from Balochistan province, Attaullah, was killed by armed militants while returning home. (Figure 10)

5. In the remote mountainous area of Mata, Swat district, Khyber Province, the Pakistani police clashed with the Pakistani Taliban, resulting in the death of one civilian and the injury of one police officer. (Figure 11 should be the deceased.)

6. Ismatullah, the newly appointed deputy commissioner of the South Waziristan tribal district (in charge of finance and planning), was attacked on his way to take office today, resulting in two police officers, Aijaz Masood and Gul Nawaz, being injured. The commissioner's car was hit, but he was not injured. (Figures 12 and 13)

7. In Kabirwala, the Pakistani Taliban claimed to have executed a spy of the Pakistani government, but this incident has not yet been confirmed by the Pakistani authorities or the family of the deceased. (Figure 14)

8. On August 6, Pakistani media reported that the Pakistani military repelled an attack by the Pakistani Taliban near the Doba Bridge in Khyber Province, killing four militants and injuring one soldier. However, so far, there is no clear information or visual evidence about this conflict. This place is not remote, and it seems likely that this is another false report of a battle.

9. Pakistani officials said that on the noon of August 6, the Pakistani military repelled an ambush by the Pakistani Taliban in the North Waziristan tribal district, killing three militants and injuring two soldiers (Haval Dar Hakim was shot in the hand; Haval Dar Zia-ul-Rahman was injured in multiple places on his feet). However, currently, only the injury of two Pakistani soldiers can be confirmed, and there is no reliable information about the death of TTP personnel. I also suspect that it is a false report of killing enemies, which might actually just be a burst of gunfire, and then both sides broke contact.

10. The negotiations between the Pakistani Taliban and the local tribes in Khyber are still ongoing. The fourth round of talks in Bajaur district ended yesterday, and the results of the talks were kept confidential. Meanwhile, the Pakistani government has remained silent on this matter. It is reported that some senior officials of the government have instructed the local government to allow the TTP and the tribes to resolve the conflict on their own. In addition, the highest committee of the TTP has also intervened in the negotiations with the tribes of Khyber, hoping to reach a mutual non-aggression agreement.
