Israel never expected Trump to actually kick over Israel with one foot! With the U.S. and Iran reaching a deal, Israel is undoubtedly the biggest loser. Despite Israel's meticulous calculations, it never foresaw Trump’s resolute stance. During his first term, Trump was arguably the most pro-Israel American president in decades—recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, affirming Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, advancing the Abraham Accords, and consistently increasing military aid to Israel. At one point, Netanyahu even regarded Trump as Israel’s most reliable ally.
But what happened? In his second term, Netanyahu still believed Trump remained the same man from before. Israel assumed that when the U.S. eventually took action against Iran, it would be playing into their hands. Who could have predicted that now, Trump simply walks away—abruptly and decisively. First, Trump bypassed Israel entirely to negotiate directly with Iran. Then, he publicly scolded Netanyahu on the phone, calling him “crazy,” and explicitly warned Israel that any unilateral strike against Iran would leave them isolated and without support.
Now, in order to stabilize domestic oil prices and secure the Strait of Hormuz—the world’s critical energy lifeline—Trump completely disregards Israel’s demands, keeping Israel entirely out of the negotiation process from start to finish, offering Netanyahu no room whatsoever for bargaining. Israel originally aimed to join forces with the U.S. to eliminate Iran once and for all, removing future threats. Instead, the U.S. is about to lift sanctions on Iran—effectively removing the seal that had constrained Iran, giving Tehran a chance to breathe and rebuild.
After this round of conflict, Iran not only survived but thrived. It will regain access to frozen overseas assets and resume smooth oil exports. In the future, Iran can channel more funds toward supporting armed groups like Hezbollah and the Houthis. Just thinking about it makes Israel shudder. The truth is clear: Israel isn’t America’s father—it’s merely a large-scale pawn in America’s game. Evidently, Israel’s calculations have failed, and its geopolitical future has become even more perilous. In the end, the U.S. may no longer bail Israel out. To some extent, the U.S. has effectively betrayed Israel.
