QatarEnergy, a liquefied natural gas producer in Qatar, announced force majeure and has informed its customers

Sputnik News Istanbul, March 4 - Qatar's state-owned liquefied natural gas producer QatarEnergy announced a force majeure situation and has informed its customers.

On March 2, QatarEnergy announced that all of its plants were attacked by drones, thus halting the production of liquefied natural gas. The sudden closure of Qatar's export terminals caused European natural gas prices to surge sharply to their highest level since 2023.

In a statement, QatarEnergy said: "QatarEnergy issues an announcement informing customers of the occurrence of a force majeure situation."

According to data from the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Qatar is one of the world's three largest liquefied natural gas producers and sellers.
