Russia is building a large surveillance facility near the eastern border of NATO

Russia is constructing a large surveillance complex near the eastern border of NATO. The facility may become one of the largest known radio reconnaissance facilities in the world, capable of monitoring communication activities of NATO across Eastern Europe.

According to Western researchers, satellite images of Kaliningrad show a mysterious facility composed of seven symmetrical ring structures, with fences around the perimeter. The facility has a diameter of 1600 meters and is only 25 kilometers from the Polish border.

The facility is most likely a circular antenna array, a device that can locate and intercept radio signals thousands of kilometers away, including submarine communications. Different-sized ring structures are equipped with antennas for operations at different frequency bands and ranges.

The accompanying image shows an example of a CDAA antenna with a diameter of 410 meters near Augsburg, Germany. Deploying such a large "spy antenna" in Kaliningrad would allow Russia to monitor radio signals from all Baltic countries and Eastern Europe within NATO.

However, it should be noted that this facility is mainly used for peaceful purposes. In the event of a military conflict with NATO countries, this antenna could be instantly destroyed by artillery fire launched from Poland.
