Russian forces claim to have recaptured two more villages in eastern Ukraine

AFP, Moscow, 23rd - As leaders of many countries continue to strive for an end to the Russia-Ukraine war, the Russian military today claimed that Russian forces have recaptured two more villages in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, continuing to increase pressure on Ukrainian forces.

Russian forces are steadily advancing in the fiercely fought areas of eastern Ukraine, gradually approaching the key defense lines of the Ukrainian forces in costly battles.

The Russian Ministry of Defense posted on the messaging app Telegram that Russian forces have captured the villages of Sredneye and Kleban-Byk in the Donetsk region of Ukraine.

Capturing the village of Kleban-Byk means that Russian forces have further advanced toward the town of Kostiantynivka, which is a key defensive stronghold located on the route to Kramatorsk, where Ukraine's main logistics base is located in Kramatorsk.

Russia also claimed yesterday that its forces had captured three more villages in the Donetsk region.
