Foreign media: Nigeria's Dangote Refinery, operating at full capacity of 65 million barrels per day, has alleviated energy shocks triggered by tensions in the Middle East by supplying fuel to multiple African countries from Senegal in the west to Mozambique in the southeast, transforming Nigeria from a net importer of petroleum products into a net exporter.
The Africa's largest refinery, built over eight years at a cost of approximately $20 billion, owes its success in large part to low-cost and efficient support from Chinese engineering contractors. The founder, Dangote, stated that China is "the only partner willing to collaborate" and emphasized that China can provide credit facilities and deliver on time.
The plant is currently planning to expand its capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day, and in February this year, it signed a $400 million expansion agreement with China's XCMG Machinery.
