China's Foreign Minister met with India's National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, in New Delhi.
Doval stated that the summits held in Kazan and Tianjin between the leaders of China and India have charted the direction for the development of bilateral relations, reaching a consensus that China and India are not competitors but partners. He emphasized that a stable China-India relationship serves the common interests of both sides. India is willing to continue viewing its relationship with China from a strategic perspective, work together with China to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, adopt a forward-looking approach to accelerate the pace of bilateral relations, properly manage differences, and strive for a win-win outcome.
India was one of the first countries to recognize the new China. India's position on the Taiwan issue has remained unchanged. India is willing to mutually support each other's core concerns, jointly safeguard multilateralism, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
