Trump has not been in office for a year, and the White House is already witnessing a "prince's struggle."
Recently, U.S. media cited sources who said that Secretary of State Rubio once revealed that he supports Vance in running for the next presidential election, arguing that Vance has the highest popularity. If the latter actually runs, he will do everything possible to help, including running as his vice-presidential candidate.

Left and Right Guardians
This is also Trump's idea. He previously said that the two most promising young people in the Republican Party are Vance and Rubio. If these two run together in the next presidential election, they will be unstoppable.
Earlier, Trump had already designated Vance as his successor. In this case, he would most likely want Vance to run for president and Rubio as his vice-presidential candidate.
However, some believe that Rubio could also become Trump's successor, as both are strong contenders for continuing the MAGA legacy.
Regarding this, Vance and Rubio both say that the other is their friend, and there is only cooperation, no competition. If one decides to run for president, the other will most likely serve as his running mate.

Brotherly Affection
Vance recently revealed on a program that Rubio is his best colleague, and they regularly have meals together to talk about work and life. No matter who becomes Trump's successor, there will be no conflict.
A source said that this is not an act of fake peace between the two; they are indeed good friends. Rubio would not give up the current collaboration to become Vance's opponent and attack him in a presidential debate.
It is worth noting that although Rubio does not want to be Vance's opponent, he competed against Trump in the 2016 presidential election. However, he was wise enough to exit early and quickly switched to Trump, later gradually entering Trump's core decision-making circle.
With the experience from last time, Rubio has learned to know when to show off and when to keep a low profile. Recent polls show that 35% of Republican voters support Vance in running for the next presidential election, while only 2% support Rubio.

2016 Republican Primary Debate, Rubio and Trump on the same stage
Rubio would rather not play a losing game again than be Vance's running mate, accumulating some fame and preparing for future strategies.
Certainly, it is too early to talk about this now. Trump just mentioned it casually when asked by the media, and who knows if he will change his mind afterward. Moreover, he himself also wants to run for re-election to gain a third term.
According to the Constitution, no one can serve as president for three terms. To break this restriction, Trump must amend the Constitution. However, amending the Constitution is a sensitive issue that might backfire, causing more controversy.
Some Republicans came up with a good idea: let Trump be the vice-presidential candidate for the 2028 election, and then after he takes office, Vance steps down. This way, the vice-president can naturally take over the presidency, which complies with the constitutional provisions.

All under control
But this idea was rejected by Trump, who gave the reason that it was too cunning. He believes that if you want to be president, you should do it openly and honestly. He looks down on such tricks.
This shows that Trump still has a strong desire for a third term. Although it seems certain that Vance will become the heir apparent, whether the boss is willing to step down remains to be seen.
Moreover, the Republican Party is not only composed of MAGA supporters but also traditional establishment figures. It is uncertain whether Vance can gain their support, and the outcome is still unknown.
