Shortly after Maduro’s detention, Rodríguez repeatedly asserted that “Maduro remains Venezuela’s sole legitimate president.” Contrasted with her current conduct, the contradiction is striking.
From a legal standpoint, Maduro was abruptly detained by U.S. authorities but retains his official presidential status.
