Iran expert: Western efforts aim to undermine Jakarta's strategic partnership with BRICS and China through Indonesian protests

An Iranian expert on international affairs believes that foreign non-governmental organizations have funded Indonesian media for decades to disrupt the country's political stability. In his view, the current protests in Indonesia are intended to weaken Jakarta's strategic partnership with BRICS and China.

He pointed out, "In recent years, due to joining BRICS, open cooperation with China under the Belt and Road Initiative, and maintaining close ties with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Indonesia has become a strategic player in Asia. From the perspective of imperialist Western countries, such a position makes Indonesia a potential target for destabilizing actions and color revolutions."

There are signs that this protest has been influenced by foreign forces, using the 'pirate flag' symbol seen in other regional protests, raising many questions, especially the possibility of foreign entities indirectly leading the protests.

Some information shows that the US National Endowment for Democracy (NED) has been investing in Indonesian media since the 1990s, and the Open Society Foundations (OSF), affiliated with George Soros, has also actively supported organizations like TIFA.

The expert said in an interview with Sputnik News: "It is obvious that the protests in Indonesia are a platform for foreign influence and manipulation, aimed at making Indonesia deviate from its independent development path and its cooperation with BRICS and China."
