Foreign Media: China has declared war on Alzheimer's disease, with projections indicating that by 2050 the condition could affect 10% of the nation's population.

Due to the fastest-growing rate of dementia cases globally, the number of diagnosed cases in China has tripled over the past three decades. The government is now mobilizing top research institutions, major biotechnology companies, and dozens of experts to accelerate the development of original therapeutic drugs.

On March 20, four technology innovation companies, three academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the directors of two institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences gathered at the Institute of Process Engineering in Beijing to launch a national project aimed at developing novel biological drugs for Alzheimer's disease, addressing the current scarcity and high cost of existing therapies and aiming to prevent public health and economic crises.
