Foreign media: According to sources, the French automaker Renault is negotiating with Chinese automaker Chery on automotive manufacturing and sales cooperation in the South American market.

This cooperation plan involves Colombia and Argentina. Chery will be granted access to Renault's existing factory network and will provide funding and product design. In the Envigado plant in Colombia, Chery will produce fuel-powered vehicles, most of which will be rebranded as Renault for sale, while the rest will be sold under the Chery brand.

In the Cordoba plant in Argentina, Chery is considering investing in a plug-in hybrid pickup truck production line, with Renault acting as the general dealer. This collaboration is part of Renault's strategy to reduce production costs and expand growth markets, and it will not affect its electric vehicle cooperation project with Geely in Brazil.
