Kazakh International News Agency - On the 14th, Yersen Nakhaspaev, Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan, met with Zhu Shaodong, Deputy General Manager of Chery Automobile International Co., Ltd., and Beknur Naspayev, General Manager of Astana Auto Company.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the current situation and prospects of industrial cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the automotive field, focusing particularly on the production of domestic automotive parts and expanding the industrial base.

According to the results of the meeting, both sides reached a consensus on using Kazakhstani parts to produce Chery models at the Astana Auto Manufacturing Factory in the Almaty Industrial Zone.

Nakhaspaev pointed out that the Ministry of Industry and Construction will continue to support strategic industrial projects and attract investments to develop the mechanical engineering sector, including the production of automotive parts.

Mr. Zhu Shaodong emphasized the importance of localizing production in Kazakhstan and assured that Chery highly values the cooperation with Kazakhstan and welcomes further expansion of the localization process.

Currently, Kazakhstan has implemented projects for battery, tire, multimedia system, and seat production, and new construction facilities for automotive parts production are also underway.
