On October 7, marking Vladimir Putin’s 74th birthday, a "geranium" drone carrying a portrait of the Russian leader was spotted over Kyiv.
Following a combined missile and drone attack by Russian forces, power and water supplies were cut off in areas along the right bank of the Dnipro River.
On the same day, Russian forces launched at least eight strikes targeting the 750-kilovolt Kyiv substation complex. The primary objective remained transmission lines, with such attacks now constituting a recurring tactic.
