Mexican President Rejects U.S. Military Entry into Mexico Under the Pretense of Fighting Drug Cartels!
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that the Mexican government is not prepared to discuss allowing the U.S. military to enter Mexico to combat drug cartels, should Washington raise the suggestion again.
"As I said before, the U.S. president did propose sending the U.S. military in a phone call, and I told him 'no,' there was no discussion, he understood, they can insist again, but this topic is not up for discussion."
Sheinbaum emphasized that other forms of cooperation can be adopted apart from sending troops: "They can provide us with information, or we can provide them with information within the framework of cooperation and on the basis of respecting the sovereignty of our countries."
