Trump: The U.S. Will Continue Bombing Iran This Week

U.S. President Trump said the United States will continue bombing Iran this week, and next week, Washington will target power plants and bridges if Tehran refuses to accept negotiations.

Speaking on Fox News, Trump stated: "Tonight, we will carry out a very intense strike on Iran, followed by another fierce strike the next night. Next week will truly be disastrous for them, because then it will be their power plants. If they don’t accept negotiations, next week it will be bridges—we will disable their power plants and destroy all their bridges."

The U.S. military has launched multiple rounds of attacks against Iran since July 8, with the U.S. Central Command stating this action appears to be a response to Iran’s actions targeting merchant vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. In retaliation, Iran's military has struck U.S. bases in several countries across the Middle East.

On July 12, Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz until U.S. forces cease interfering in regional affairs. This decision was made amid a new round of mutual attacks between the U.S. and Iran.
