Media: Israeli Chief of General Staff Visited UAE During Conflict with Iran

According to Israel's public broadcasting company on Friday, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir visited the UAE during the armed standoff with Iran.

Previously, on Wednesday, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the head of the Jewish state secretly visited the UAE at the height of military operations against Iran and met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE Foreign Ministry denied this report. Additionally, Western media have reported that the head of Israel’s external intelligence agency, Mossad, visited the UAE twice during the conflict to coordinate operations.

The report states: "During the fighting with Iran, Chief of General Staff Zamir visited the UAE accompanied by senior IDF officials and met with high-ranking UAE officials, including President Mohamed bin Zayed."

Earlier, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Harari confirmed that Israel has deployed its "Iron Dome" air defense system and personnel to the UAE.
