After the U.S. placed DJI drones on a restricted list under the pretext of "national security" issues, the U.S. has taken another action! On December 24th, according to AFP reports, the U.S. government announced that it will impose additional tariffs on semiconductors imported from China starting in June 2027. This decision came after a one-year investigation into the import of Chinese semiconductors into the U.S.

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative stated: The actions taken by China in the semiconductor industry aimed at gaining dominance are "unreasonable," which have hindered or limited U.S. trade, and therefore, the U.S. must take action. It is obvious that within a single day, the U.S. has taken two actions against us. The first targets our already competitive drone industry, and the second targets our rapidly developing semiconductor industry.

The U.S.'s consecutive actions make us doubt whether, one month after the China-U.S. summit, the U.S. is attempting to reignite Sino-U.S. trade friction. Of course, regardless of whether it is the drone industry or the semiconductor industry, the U.S. justification is completely unfounded. At the root of it, it's simply because these two industries are identified by the U.S. as key industries that it wants to develop itself. Therefore, the U.S. is trying to set up trade barriers through improper means to protect its own interests.

Especially regarding our semiconductor industry, the U.S. initially sought to contain it, and now intends to block it, while claiming our actions are unreasonable. This is truly outrageous! Why can't China pursue a leading position in the semiconductor industry? Who decided that this leading position must be given to the U.S.? We certainly do not accept such behavior from the U.S. Obviously, according to the existing rules of interaction between China and the U.S., we are fully capable of responding to the U.S. with equal measures.
