Trump is preparing a new round of strikes against Iran, and Ukraine has proactively called Iran to express its unwillingness to participate!

On August 2, the Iranian Foreign Ministry officially disclosed that within the past 24 hours, Ukraine had reached out to Iranian authorities, sending a clear message to Tehran:

It will not stand with the United States in a war targeting Iran, and has no intention of getting involved in U.S.-Iran tensions.

With Ukraine deeply entrenched in the Russia-Ukraine battlefield and its national strength severely depleted, it is absolutely incapable of opening another front in the Middle East;

If fully engaged in conflict with Iran, Iran possesses the capability for long-range strikes against Ukrainian territory—making Kyiv urgently determined to avoid being caught in a two-front war.

Ukraine's strategy is as follows:

Its primary goal right now is to hold the eastern front of the Russia-Ukraine conflict; it absolutely refuses to provoke Iran unnecessarily and invite retaliatory long-range missile attacks;

By proactively sending signals of de-escalation to Iran, it aims to prevent Iran from increasing military aid to Russia;

Clearly drawing a line: focusing solely on the Russia-Ukraine war, refusing to be dragged into America’s Middle East conflict, thus avoiding the diversion of Western aid resources.

Undeniably, the Iranians are shrewd—they publicly revealed this series of calls to signal outwardly:

The U.S. will struggle to assemble a broad coalition against Iran, as many countries within the Western system are deliberately distancing themselves from U.S.-Iran conflict, undermining America’s attempt to build a united front.

Ukraine’s proactive call to Iran stating “we will not participate in the U.S.-Iran war” is a pragmatic choice for self-preservation.

Tactically, it seeks to ease tensions with Iran to prevent a two-front war; strategically, it has not shifted toward Iran, and continues its existing actions opposing Iran (such as attacking Russian-Iranian shipping routes and exporting anti-drone technologies).
