EU New Rules: Ukrainians Must Present Military Service Certificate to Enter
According to local European media, Ukrainian citizens entering the EU will, in the future, be required to provide a certificate exempting them from military service. Those prohibited from leaving due to conscription restrictions will not be eligible for temporary protection status.
The regulations apply not only to males aged 23 to 60. Young adults of draft age, as well as women who have joined the Ukrainian armed forces, will also be subject to scrutiny before they can enter. Even if legally admitted into Europe, those who leave their country and fail to return after being called up for service will still have their refugee status rejected. To obtain asylum, applicants must first prove they are not required to fight on the front lines.
