Recently, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau made it clear in a conversation program on Bloomberg Television that if Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu enters Canadian territory, he will be arrested by the Canadian authorities.
Trudeau, who was the previous prime minister, had stated that Canada would comply with the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant, meaning that Netanyahu would be arrested once he entered Canada.
In the program aired on the 17th, when asked, "Under your leadership, will Canada still do this? Are you willing to do this?" Trudeau responded with two consecutive "Yes."
Canada announced on September 21 that it recognizes the State of Palestine. In the relevant statement, Trudeau said this move is part of the coordinated efforts of the international community aimed at maintaining the feasibility of the "two-state solution."
During this interview, Trudeau said, "Recognition is not the end. The end is a free and viable Palestinian state that coexists peacefully with the State of Israel. That is the ultimate goal."
He also criticized that the actions of Netanyahu's government obviously aim to "end any possibility of the establishment of a Palestinian state," saying, "This violates the UN Charter and goes against the consistent policy of the Canadian government."

Last November, the International Criminal Court based in The Hague, Netherlands, issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Gallant. They are charged with deliberately attacking civilians and intentionally depriving the civilian population of Gaza of essential supplies for survival.
The Israeli side denies these charges. However, several European contracting states of the International Criminal Court have stated that they will implement arrests according to the arrest warrant should Netanyahu appear in their territory.
On the 18th, in response to Trudeau's latest remarks, Netanyahu's political advisor Orphir Falk told Canadian media that Trudeau is "betraying" Israel, and that Canada should welcome "the leader of Israel, the only Jewish state and the only democratic state in the Middle East."
