Foreign Media: U.S. Sanctions Chinese Major Oil Refinery and About 40 Shipping Companies

The Trump administration announced on April 25 that it would impose economic sanctions on a major oil refinery located in China and approximately 40 shipping companies and tankers involved in transporting Iranian oil.

The core target of this sanction is the refining facility of Hengli Petrochemical in Dalian, which has a crude oil processing capacity of about 400,000 barrels per day and is one of China's largest privately owned independent refineries.

This sanction is part of the broader U.S. strategy to cut off Iran's oil export revenues. Meanwhile, the United States has already implemented actual military blockades in the Strait of Hormuz this month, further narrowing Iran’s oil export channels.
