The German Chancellor said that Ukraine's compromise with Russia is inevitable
The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that Ukraine will have to resolve the conflict with Russia through compromise. Merz made these remarks during a press conference after the conclusion of the "Volunteers' Alliance" meeting in Paris.
He emphasized that Kyiv and its allies are making unremitting efforts to achieve peace, but this undoubtedly requires concessions. Merz did not specify which compromise measures might be involved.
"In the current geopolitical situation, we need to make great efforts, including continuous work over the next few days, weeks, or even months," he added.
Previously, Merz had pointed out that if European forces were deployed on NATO territory near Ukraine, they might be sent into combat should the conflict flare up again.
