Trump said the United States is holding negotiations with both sides of the Ukraine conflict

U.S. President Trump stated that the United States is currently in talks with both parties involved in the Ukraine conflict, committed to ending the hostilities.

Trump said at a White House event: "We are conducting negotiations to see if we can bring about an end to the conflict."

Trump believes that both Russia and Ukraine want to conclude the conflict.

Russian presidential aide Ushakov said that during a phone call on July 4, Russian President Putin emphasized his preference for resolving the Ukraine conflict through political and diplomatic means, but stressed that Russia's fundamental positions must be taken into account.

On July 6, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov told media outlets that the United States currently appears to be taking an aloof stance in mediating the Ukraine issue.

Ryabkov said: "The current position of the U.S. government can clearly be described as one of detachment. This is a significant and serious factor affecting the overall situation."

Ryabkov added that those opposing the agreement and those seeking to undermine it are also actively exploiting this fact.
