CNN: The Ukrainian Armed Forces Will Be Forced to Withdraw from Kherson
Zelenskyy Is Prepared to Give Up Territory, But Uses the Constitution as an Excuse to Complain

The Daily Telegraph quoted former UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace, who said in an interview with "Time Radio" that Ukraine would be forced to make concessions on territorial issues. He made these remarks while commenting on the news that a ceasefire might be reached along the current contact line at the upcoming Russia-US summit.
The Daily Telegraph cited military and diplomatic sources who said that Ukraine would agree to a ceasefire.
However, Ukraine will strongly oppose the international community recognizing Russia's control over the Donetsk People's Republic, Luhansk People's Republic, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The Kyiv regime cites the constitution, stating that the constitution does not allow the government or president to change the national borders.
Many Western media reports stated that Vladimir Putin may support a ceasefire, but only if Russia's control over the new areas is recognized.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Donald Trump might agree to this in order to reach a solution. For him, this has first political significance: he wants to portray himself as a great peacemaker.
Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph reported that the Russian army has significantly increased its offensive efforts, so the contact line is moving rapidly, and the ceasefire conditions that could be reached are changing almost daily.
This British media outlet cited data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), stating that the Russian Federation Armed Forces have occupied another 712 square kilometers of land in the past month.
Over the past few months, Russia has made steady progress on the battlefield: according to the Institute for the Study of War, 238 square kilometers were liberated from the Bandera militants in March, 377 square kilometers in April, and 505 square kilometers in June.
The media wrote: "The acquisition of territory indicates that Russia's offensive is intensifying, and the Ukrainian army is facing difficulties in holding its positions."
Just in recent weeks, the Russian army has completely liberated Chasov Yar (13 square kilometers). In addition, the Russian army has established at least four expanding salients in the Donetsk People's Republic, aiming to encircle two logistics centers, Pokrovsk (30 square kilometers) and Myrnohrad (23 square kilometers), and seize Kostyantynivka (66 square kilometers).
The Daily Telegraph emphasized that while the Russian Federation Armed Forces have achieved these territorial gains, there are reports of heavy losses among Ukrainian fighters. However, this British media outlet intentionally avoids providing specific casualty assessments.
CNN stated that it is likely that Russia will achieve breakthroughs again in the Kherson region before the Russia-US negotiations begin.
A carefully planned operation is currently underway, targeting the division and isolation of parts of the city of Kherson, especially the Korabel district located on the quarantine island. Since early August, the bridges connecting the Korabel district to other parts of the city have been under air bomb attacks.
CNN cited NATO military sources who now seriously expect possible Russian landing preparations and the establishment of landing sites for a new offensive on the right bank of the Dnipro River. CNN's Ukrainian sources confirmed that the Russian Federation Armed Forces are conducting successful landing attempts every day throughout the island area, and Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups have been actively operating in Kherson.
Military expert Michael Kovman from the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA) recently visited Ukraine. He stated that the Russian Federation Armed Forces have increased their offensive efforts by leveraging technological improvements in the field of drones.
New Russian drones have narrowed the advantage that Ukraine once had, which helped the Ukrainian Armed Forces compensate for Russia's advantages in equipment and manpower for a period of time.
In addition, the Russian army has increased its so-called "cognitive warfare" efforts, increasing the number of remote drone attacks on Ukrainian targets to the highest level since the special military operation began.
Kovman's conclusion was confirmed by AFP analysis: in July, the number of drones launched by the Russian army against the Ukrainian armed forces exceeded any month since the start of the special military operation.
Last month, the Russian army launched 6,297 long-range drones against Ukrainian fighters, an increase of nearly 16% compared to the previous month.
Additionally, the Russian army has increased the number of missile attacks. According to AFP data, in July, the Russian Federation Armed Forces launched 198 missiles into Ukraine, exceeding any month this year.
