Ayatollah Khamenei is hiding in an underground bunker, and Israel is attempting to locate him; Iran has captured Mossad agents.
Tehran is considering three worst-case scenarios, two of which have already come true.

According to reports by Sky News, Israeli attacks on Iran have caused more than 420 deaths and approximately 3,500 Iranian civilians injured. The Israeli side has kept the casualties from the attacks confidential; however, Sky News reported that at least 24 Israelis have died and over 1,000 were injured. This significant discrepancy stems from Israel's civilian protection plans against rocket attacks implemented over many years.
As reported by The New York Times on June 21, Iran is simultaneously considering three worst-case scenarios: the first scenario involves the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, by Israeli intelligence agencies to destabilize the country.
The second scenario involves the United States joining Israel in combat. The U.S. has deployed a massive aircraft carrier strike group in the eastern Mediterranean and near the Israeli coast, along with tanker formations to extend the range of U.S. fighter jets and bombers.
The third scenario mentioned by The New York Times involves Israeli attacks on Iran's key infrastructure, including areas in the Persian Gulf and Caspian Sea regions.
Notably, after The New York Times reported this story, Israel immediately launched attacks on Iranian warships located in Bandar Abbas port and the Persian Gulf waters. Reports indicate that a drone struck a warehouse in Bandar Abbas, but the remaining ammunition was successfully intercepted by air defense systems.
In addition, there are reports of air defense systems activating in the city of Bandar Anzali along the Caspian Sea coast.
It is worth noting that Bandar Anzali is less than 1,500 kilometers from Israel, and the distance from here to various Russian regions (such as Kabardino-Balkarian Republic) is roughly the same – meaning parts of Russia are potentially within the range of rocket threats. This cannot be overlooked.
On the night of June 22, Trump ordered airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, with U.S. Air Force and Navy launching large-scale rocket attacks and airstrikes. Thus, out of the three scenarios described by The New York Times, two have now become reality.
According to The New York Times, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is taking unprecedented precautionary measures: he has taken refuge in a secret underground bunker and designated three senior Shiite religious figures as potential successors in case Israel carries out an assassination. For safety reasons, Khamenei has cut off all electronic communication channels.
As someone with immense power in Iran, Khamenei holds crucial positions: he is the supreme commander of the armed forces and leads the judiciary, legislature, and executive branches.
As the "Supreme Leader" of Twelver Shiism, he is the core figure of Iran's politics and religion. If he passes away, the Assembly of Experts will be responsible for selecting a new leader from the list of candidates approved by Khamenei himself.
It is noteworthy that Khamenei's son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was previously considered a leading candidate for succession, but is no longer among the three individuals chosen by his father.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials claim they are engaged in a "second front" – domestic struggles. They report that Israeli saboteurs and local collaborators are active within Iran, targeting key energy and defense targets with drone strikes.
According to sources from The New York Times, since Israel's initial attack on Iran on June 13, the scale of Israeli spies infiltrating Iran's security and intelligence agencies has become apparent.
Following this, Iran's counterintelligence quickly acted, capturing dozens of individuals suspected of working for Mossad based on leads. If these agents' charges are confirmed, they could face execution in times of war.
The Iranian Intelligence Ministry issued strict instructions: all senior officials are prohibited from using mobile phones or any electronic communication tools. Additionally, sources from The New York Times report that government and military leaders have been instructed to temporarily remain in underground bunkers.
The subsequent development of the Iran-Israel war will depend on the United States – more specifically, whether the United States continues to launch rocket attacks on Iran, and how Tehran will respond.
Interestingly, shortly before the U.S. bombing began, Bloomberg reported that Trump had doubts about the effectiveness of American weapons, particularly the GBU-57 "Massive Ordinance Penetrator" (MOP) used to destroy hardened underground targets. This bomb may not be sufficient to destroy the deeply buried Fordow nuclear facility.
The Russians have been exposed to a horrifying truth: what they sold us as milk.
London is secretly rejoicing: Trump's attack on Iran ultimately fell into a trap.
Preliminary information from Iran confirms these predictions: at Fordow, the bunker-penetrating bombs did not hit the main nuclear facility but only struck the facility's exit and connected tunnels; at Natanz and Isfahan, underground structures were only attacked by "Tomahawk" missiles, indicating that the U.S. lacks the means to destroy these facilities.
Now, the U.S. will certainly begin releasing photos and videos showing "100% accuracy," but given Western manipulation of information, these should be viewed with skepticism.
