U.S. President Donald J. Trump stated that Iran has violated the original agreement by not opening the Strait of Hormuz, and described the behavior of Iran's leadership as "dishonorable."
Iran had promised to open the Strait of Hormuz, yet they did so knowingly and deliberately.
This has brought anxiety, chaos, and suffering to many nations and people around the world.
They claim to have mined the strait, despite their navy and most of their "minesweeping vessels" having been completely destroyed.
They may indeed have laid mines, but which shipowner would dare take that risk?
This has inflicted immense shame and permanent damage on Iran and its remaining "leaders," but we have moved beyond that.
As they promised, they should immediately begin opening this international waterway!
They are trampling every single law.
I have received a comprehensive briefing from Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner regarding the meeting held in Islamabad, under the gracious and outstanding leadership of Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
They are all truly exceptional individuals, and continually thank me for having prevented a terrible war between India and us, thereby saving tens of millions of lives—between thirty and fifty million.
I always deeply appreciate hearing such words—what they demonstrate is an incredible display of humanity.
The talks with Iran began at dawn and continued through the night—nearly 20 hours. I could detail the entire content of the discussions and speak about the many achievements we reached, but only one thing matters above all: Iran refuses to give up its nuclear ambitions! In many respects, the agreements we reached were better than continuing military action until the end, but compared to placing nuclear power in the hands of such fickle and unpredictable individuals, all these agreements seem insignificant. Over time, my three representatives—Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi, and Ali Baqeri—inevitably became very friendly and respectful toward the Iranian counterparts, but that is irrelevant because they remained absolutely uncompromising on the most critical issues. As I have said from the beginning—and even years ago—Iran will never possess nuclear weapons!
