On the evening of April 17th local time, the US military launched a large-scale air strike on Ras Isa Port, which is under the control of the Houthi armed forces in Al Hudaydah Province, western Yemen. At least 80 people were killed and 171 injured. The reporter of the General Station saw when visiting the attacked port that the entire port had been completely paralyzed.

Reporter of the General Station, Mahafuz: I am now at Ras Isa Port on the Red Sea coast of western Yemen. Before the war broke out, this was the port for exporting crude oil from Yemen to the outside world. Later, it was used to import derivatives of petroleum and natural gas, making it one of the ports most dependent on the local oil market in Yemen. According to the Red Sea Port Authority, due to the US military's air strikes, Ras Isa Port has now become completely unusable.

After entering the port, the reporter of the General Station found that the port was in a mess. Oil and gas product storage tanks, transport pipelines, a large number of mechanical equipment, vehicles, as well as many devices and infrastructure within the port were destroyed, leaving the entire port completely paralyzed.

General Manager of Ras Isa Port, Ibrahim: Ras Isa Port has suffered a brutal attack. As we all know, this is a civilian port. Look at these oil tankers, they belong to transportation companies. There are no weapons, no army, none of these, we are a civilian port.

Staff member of Yemen Petroleum Company, Sulaiman Makbali: We started work at 20:30 on the 17th and worked until 21:00 when the air strikes began. Bombs fell from above our heads while we were working. We are civilians, workers of the port, not armed personnel, we have no weapons.

The US military said that their purpose of attacking Ras Isa Port was to destroy the port, cut off the Houthis' oil imports, and strike their economy. The reporter of the General Station learned that this US military air strike not only caused a large number of casualties but will also lead to fuel shortages in Yemen, further worsening the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
