Foreign Media: Meta's AI Lab Has Gathered a Large Number of Chinese Experts

Meta announced that its newly established "Super Intelligence Laboratory" (MSL) has recruited several Chinese AI elites, triggering heated discussions in the Chinese technology community. Zuckerberg stated in an internal memo that MSL will develop next-generation AI models to achieve "personal super intelligence accessible to everyone."

Among the 11 newly hired employees who are currently public, seven are from China, all graduated from top universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, and the University of Science and Technology of China, and have further studied and worked in the United States.

Earlier, NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun pointed out that about 50% of global AI researchers are Chinese, a trend reflected in Meta's talent recruitment. At the same time, Meta's active hiring strategy has also intensified tensions with its competitor OpenAI. According to reports, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, once criticized Meta for luring talent from his company with signing bonuses as high as $100 million.
