Putin: Russia Launches Large-Scale Railway Expansion Project

President Vladimir Putin of Russia stated that the Russian railway transportation system is developing, and large-scale expansion projects, including in the Arctic region, have been launched, which will consolidate Russia's position as the most important logistics hub in the Eurasian continent.

In a video address on "Railway Workers' Day," Putin said, "The Russian railway transportation system is developing and has launched a milestone large project. The Baikal-Amur Mainline and the Trans-Siberian Railway are being expanded, and other lines and seaport channels in areas such as the Kola Peninsula and the Far East are being modernized. The plan also includes laying and updating routes in high-latitude areas of the Arctic, the Komi Republic, and Yamal."

He is confident that the railway expansion projects will meet the growing economic needs of the Russian people and the country.

The President emphasized, "These projects will consolidate Russia's position as the most important logistics hub across the entire Eurasian continent and create new possibilities for global competitive logistics routes, including the trans-Arctic transport corridor."

The "Railway Workers' Day" is held on the first Sunday of August each year, and the festival in 2025 will be on August 3.
