Kazakhstan International News Agency - According to news from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtlev visited Jette Suzhou last week and held bilateral talks with the leadership of two major Chinese enterprises - China Minmetals Corporation and CITIC Construction, focusing on implementing joint investment projects in key areas such as logistics, industry, and agricultural product processing.
In the meeting with China Minmetals Corporation, both sides discussed the construction of a logistics hub in the Khorgos area, which is expected to become a new strategic node on the transportation corridor connecting Asia and Europe.
The meeting with representatives of CITIC Construction focused on the company's plan to expand its investments in Kazakhstan. Both sides determined one of the key directions of cooperation as the construction of an agricultural product deep-processing industrial park in the border area, which will create new opportunities for the local export-oriented economy.
Nurtlev emphasized that the development cooperation with China in the border areas is one of the priority directions of Kazakhstan's foreign economic policy. The implementation of joint projects will help strengthen bilateral trade and economic ties, enhance the investment appeal of Jette Suzhou, create more job opportunities, and ultimately promote the sustainable socio-economic development of the region.
