The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that two oil-carrying cargo ships flying the Indian flag were attacked while attempting to transit through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday. Iran's Ambassador to India, Mohammad Fatahi, was summoned and met with Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who expressed India's serious concerns regarding the incident. Misri urged the Iranian ambassador to convey India's position to the Iranian government and to expedite the restoration of processes facilitating the passage of vessels bound for India through the strait.

As Iran strengthens its control over the Strait of Hormuz, U.S. officials report that American forces are preparing to conduct boarding inspections and seize commercial vessels linked to Iran in international waters within the coming days. This move would expand the scope of U.S. naval operations beyond the Middle East, indicating that U.S. forces will exercise global oversight over vessels associated with Iran—including Iranian oil tankers already sailing beyond the Persian Gulf and those potentially providing weapons support to Iran. Previously, on Thursday, U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine stated: "The United States will actively track any vessel flying the Iranian flag, as well as any vessel attempting to provide material support to Iran, including the so-called 'shadow fleet' transporting Iranian oil." He added that U.S. Indo-Pacific Command will also participate in certain operations, marking a new phase in America’s intensified pressure on Iran.
