Hakastan Advances AI-Sana Project with Huawei's International Experience Support
Hazakhstan News Agency - The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan recently held talks with representatives of Huawei, discussing the prospects of cooperation in talent development in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital technology. The meeting aimed to promote the national artificial intelligence talent system and introduce international advanced experience to improve the quality of education and technical capabilities.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister Dinara Sheglova of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, with participation from Ayan Ramajon, Director of the Department of Digitalization and Public Services, Sherek Karkamanov, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, and his deputy Meirbek Izbasar, as well as Alman Ashkin, Chairman of the Science Foundation Joint Stock Company. On the Huawei side, Xu Hai, Vice President for Central Asia, Muhammad Madkour, Vice President of ICT Solutions and Strategy, and relevant personnel responsible for partnership and talent ecosystem development participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, Huawei introduced its international experience in information and communication technology (ICT) and artificial intelligence education ecosystems, highlighting the operation of the Huawei ICT Academy network, the training and education system, the setting of certification courses, and the achievements of students participating in international competitions. According to the introduction, Huawei has established cooperative relationships with more than 3,500 universities worldwide, continuously promoting professional talent development projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, computing technology, and network technology.
At the same time, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan introduced the implementation progress of the national AI-Sana project. This project aims to build a national ecological system for artificial intelligence talent cultivation. According to the plan, basic AI courses will be introduced into all professional education programs, thus achieving the large-scale cultivation of talents with basic AI capabilities and promoting the overall transformation and upgrading of the education system.
In addition, both sides discussed the initiative proposed by Huawei to produce a special documentary. This project will focus on the development process of the AI-Sana plan and the transformation practice of Kazakhstan's talent training system. The Kazakh side expressed support for this initiative, pointing out that it would help promote international cooperation and enhance Kazakhstan's international influence in the field of artificial intelligence.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their intention to further strengthen cooperation in expanding educational projects, introducing international curricula and certification systems, teacher and student training, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, and building digital infrastructure in universities. Both sides also reached consensus on promoting the implementation of artificial intelligence courses and joint projects, expressing their commitment to continuously deepen practical cooperation.
