86% of Mongolia's agricultural products are exported to China: 183,500 tons of plant-based products exported within one year

Tongyi News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, April 25 — Within the period of one month and one year since March 1 of last year, Mongolia's exports of plant-based products have reached 183,500 tons.

Of this, 86% were exported to China. Among the total export volume, 75% consisted of crops and plant-based products, 24% were processed products, and wood-related products accounted for 1%. Among the planted products, rapeseed, animal feed bran, and dried hay made up the largest share. The main export categories include rapeseed (100,800 tons), animal feed (23,700 tons), bran (27,900 tons), and potatoes (10,800 tons). Additionally, small quantities of sea buckthorn products, carrot juice, pine nuts, and other items have also been exported. Relevant authorities pointed out that these data indicate a steady growth trend in plant-based product exports, although market concentration remains high.

The rapid growth in exports of plants and plant-based products is bringing new development opportunities and revival momentum to Mongolia’s agricultural cultivation sector. For example, this trend helps expand farmers’ crop rotation options, improve soil fertility, increase crop yields, and thus positively contribute to enhancing agricultural productivity, boosting economic returns, and promoting sustainable industry development.
