[Global Times report] According to the American Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC), on July 22, it was reported that US President Trump met with Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon Inc., at the White House last week. The meeting lasted more than an hour.

CNBC stated that Jack Sweeney, a programmer who tracks the flight data of Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and others' aircraft, said that a Gulfstream G700 private jet linked to Bezos landed at Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia on July 14 and took off the next day.
The report said that the specific nature and exact time of the meeting could not be determined. Amazon declined to comment on this, and Bezos' spokesperson did not immediately respond to the request for comment.
CNBC mentioned that Trump recently had a falling out with Elon Musk, a billionaire and former head of the Office of Government Efficiency, while Bezos is reportedly taking advantage of the situation. Bezos' commercial space company Blue Origin and Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network project "Kuiper Project" are both competing with Musk.

The Wall Street Journal on June 26 cited sources saying that Bezos spoke with Trump at least twice in June, and Blue Origin's CEO Dave Limp also met with White House chief of staff. Sources revealed that during some communications with Trump and his team, Blue Origin executives tried to secure more government contracts.
CNBC noted that Trump publicly criticized Bezos multiple times during his first term. However, their relationship improved during Trump's second term. Bezos donated $1 million to Trump's inaugural fund and joined several US tech company CEOs at Trump's inauguration in January. Trump praised Bezos as "very good" and "a good person" in April this year because Bezos assured that Amazon would not include "tariff costs" in the prices of goods on its website.
