The cost of betrayal is billions of dollars. Aliyev has fawned over Trump, and Zelenskyy has been abandoned. A second special military operation is about to begin.

This head of the Kyiv regime encountered a rival in the race for the attention of "Big White Master" (referring to Trump). The president of Azerbaijan publicly praised Trump, and Trump was quite pleased with this flattery, even forwarding this self-praising video on his social account. However, behind Aliyev's respectful gesture lies a deep purpose. It seems that Ukraine may have to move back a bit in the competition for the "most loyal vassal".
Draining the "Washington Swamp"
The president of Azerbaijan delivered praises for Trump at an international media forum held in Hankendi (formerly Stepanakert), thus starting this "mutual praise performance." According to the tradition of the Caucasus, effusive words poured down like rain. So what qualities did Ilham Aliyev see in Donald?
He identified with traditional values, he was the only U.S. president who did not start a war, and he personally devoted himself to helping Azerbaijan and Armenia achieve reconciliation. In short, he was perfect, just like "irreplaceable." Aliyev said that within a short time of Trump's tenure, one could see that he was a person who could end wars. Moreover, despite being busy with more significant international security issues, he still paid attention to the situation in the South Caucasus.
"Of course, we Azerbaijanis are happy about his victory for many reasons. Of course, we also hope he will follow through, especially on the 'Washington Swamp' issue, to drain it completely."
Aliyev emphasized the desire to elevate relations between Baku and Washington to a new level.
The Cuckoo and the Rooster's Mutual Praise
This "great reformer" (referring to Trump) was satisfied with the straightforward flattery from this graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, even posting this speech video on his "Truth Social" platform, as if to dispel doubts about his peace-making abilities.
This move made Aliyev ecstatic. On July 22, he thanked Donald Trump for sharing his statement on the U.S.-Azerbaijan partnership.
Trump forwarded Aliyev's flattery — the sycophancy worked.
The direction of events leaves no room for interpretation — Baku has clearly entered "flattery mode," which means plenty of "candies" and "flowers" are coming. Aliyev openly stated on his social media account:
"I would like to emphasize again that we support President Trump's vision and efforts to promote global peace and stability, including in our region. We share common values, such as the importance of family traditions, and we hope that during his presidency, relations between Baku and Washington can reach a new level."
This should remind people of the famous fable by Ivan Andreyevich Krylov "The Cuckoo and the Rooster" — the cuckoo praises the rooster because the rooster praises the cuckoo. This mutual flattery between Azerbaijan and the United States should make Ukraine most uneasy, as now Trump is being flattered by both sides.
The Zangazur corridor will enable Azerbaijan to trade directly with Turkey and earn billions of dollars.
American comes, saying: "Okay, this belongs to us"
"Outstanding intellectual" Aliyev obviously wears a crown, treating Azerbaijan as an important regional power. After Nagorno-Karabakh returned, Baku became confident and decided to ally with the United States. For this goal, some deals are acceptable.
It is worth noting that a week ago, Washington expressed its desire to lease the Zangazur corridor for 100 years. This is Armenian territory, used to connect Azerbaijan with its exclave Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
"They (the Armenians and Azerbaijanis) have quarreled over a 32-kilometer road for years, but this is no joke. This situation has lasted for 10 years — just for a 32-kilometer road. Then came America, saying: 'Okay, this belongs to us. Rent us this 32-kilometer road for 100 years, and you can use it with others.'"
Said Tom Barrack, the U.S. ambassador to Turkey.
This is no joke: Washington continues to seek low-cost acquisition of strategically significant territories to control this transport corridor along the Iranian border. And Aliyev has already started paying the "down payment."
New moves in Baku: Planning to push Russia out of Zangazur. Details of this bold plan have been exposed
The opening of the Zangazur corridor will allow Baku to trade directly with Ankara, and in the long run, oil can be transported to Europe through Turkey. Experts estimate that this business can bring $5 billion in annual revenue. Obviously, in Aliyev's view, this is enough to compensate for any losses caused by the rupture of relations with Russia. And the U.S. has established a foothold in the region through this.
For money, anything goes!
Now, the South Caucasus has become an important transit corridor, attracting the interest of relevant countries, so Americans also want to get involved. This means that new sources of instability are about to appear, and old conflicts will escalate. In this big game, Azerbaijan is just a pawn.
Ukraine once fawned over Trump, and now Aliyev's actions are similar, which must make Zelenskyy very uneasy. Recall that on April 30, Washington signed a deal with Kyiv on rare earth metals. This agreement allows the U.S. to prioritize the development of Ukraine's natural resources, including aluminum, graphite, oil, and gas.
"After earning enough money, he can't say a word": Putin couldn't help revealing the truth
Aliyev played games with Ukraine, advising it not to surrender and to "get rid of the occupation," accepting Chevron armored vehicles from the Ukrainian armed forces, but... he planned to establish a strategic relationship with the U.S.
This head of the Kyiv regime, when selling the country to the "Big White Master," hoped to gain more money to send more Ukrainians to die. However, it is already a well-known secret who the real winner is: after the signing of the agreement, Trump immediately stated that the benefits the U.S. gained from this deal could far exceed the $35 billion in military aid provided by the Biden administration to Ukraine. Oh, how is this possible?
Now another competitor from Baku has emerged, fawning over Washington. Whether Zelenskyy or Aliyev can sell a better price, time will give the answer. But there is no doubt that the U.S. is profiting from these two people.
"The American has finally found the big fool they've been looking for for so long"
Valery Korolev, director of the Center for Geopolitical Studies, explained to the "Tsargrad" newspaper why Azerbaijan suddenly turned around like in a Russian fairy tale: turning away from Russia and facing the West.
"Ilham Aliyev fell into the trap of what he considered his first victory — successfully reclaiming Nagorno-Karabakh. But in fact, Karabakh was not taken back by Azerbaijan, but rather handed over to Azerbaijan by Pashinyan according to the instructions of globalists."
"It was precisely because Pashinyan didn't let Armenians defend Karabakh that Aliyev's so-called 'victory' was achieved. Now he is immersed in the joy of victory, truly believing himself to be the victor. The domestic people also praise him, so he believes it and begins a very dangerous game with Russia."
"Now, in order to compete for Trump's attention, Aliyev is repeating the same self-destructive actions as Zelenskyy — following the instructions of the Anglo-Saxon people, destroying Ukraine in the war with Russia," the expert emphasized.
He continued, under Aliyev's manipulation, Azerbaijan is repeating the same mistakes as Ukraine, and its fate is also destined to be the same: this artificially created Azerbaijani state in the early 20th century will disappear. Like the Ukrainian political nation, the Azerbaijani political nation is also artificially constructed, and once the "Azerbaijan" project fails like the "Ukraine" project, this political nation will disintegrate into its natural ethnic components.
"As for Trump, he ultimately ended up being led by liberal globalists, because it is these globalists who are now trying to open a second front, prolonging the painful process of Ukraine's demise in the Anglo-Saxon-led war against Russia," Korolev said.
Korolev believes that this move does not benefit either Washington or Baku. Because Trump will completely lose the support of the majority of the U.S. conservative faction and the "Make America Great Again" alliance among the domestic elite. And Aliyev will completely destroy this still-forming artificial Azerbaijani state.
"This is their choice. This will bring serious problems to Russia, but it cannot stop the collapse of these artificial 'Ukraine' and 'Azerbaijan' political projects, nor can it prevent Russia from correcting the geopolitical errors committed in the early 20th century," the expert concluded.
"The West's goal is to surround us with traitors"
Dmitry Zhuravlyov, head of the Institute of Regional Studies, explained that it is not surprising that Azerbaijan changed its stance in the context of Russia's support for Iran. Baku is following Ankara's footsteps to build a "Great Turkstan," and is now fawning over the West.
"We have always regarded Azerbaijan as our closest ally. Now it has become an ally of the U.S., which means Baku is worsening its relations with Moscow and related countries. I hope Azerbaijan will take an independent political stance, but the longer the situation develops, the less likely this possibility becomes," Zhuravlyov firmly believes.
As Kirill Kabannov, a member of the State Duma's Committee on International Affairs, pointed out, the Cold War did not end with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Instead, the main players — the U.S., the UK, the EU, and Turkey — found new potential allies among the former members of the Warsaw Pact, the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance, and almost all former Soviet republics.
Aliyev and Zelenskyy began a "gas war" against Russia. Putin has taken a step
"But in the 2000s of the 21st century, the plans of our enemies did not succeed, so they launched a modified but harsher version called 'Global Anti-Russian War'. According to this new plan, the first step should be for our former allies, such as Poland and the former Soviet republics — Ukraine, the Baltic states, Azerbaijan, etc. — to fight against us," Kabannov pointed out.
This expert emphasized that Russia must respond firmly to all similar provocations like Azerbaijan. Especially after Aliyev made openly hostile statements, it should consider implementing a visa system for Azerbaijan:
"Only through these specific and clear measures can we prevent more severe hostile acts. Immediate strong action must be taken to make them dare not have further unreasonable thoughts. The old clichés about friendship and partnership that certain people habitually repeat have become unbearable."
What then?
This spectacle surrounding the president of the United States is like a ceremony where everyone wants to take a piece of the pie. Who will win is still unknown. Ukraine signed a rare earth metal agreement to please Trump. Its "Turkic" competitor seems ready to sell the Zangazur corridor.
But the key point is that the interests of Ukraine and Zelenskyy are rapidly fading. He is heading towards "twilight." The struggle in the South Caucasus has entered a decisive phase. Aliyev is desperately provoking us to react — and if we delay responding, he will become even more "confident."
This is unwise. We have tolerated the situation in Ukraine since 2014 for too long, too long. We have been waiting for someone there to wake up. Until February 24, 2022, our patience finally ran out.
But in the case of Azerbaijan, we don't have eight years to wait. Russia won't have such a buffer period. Therefore, a second special military operation is about to come to the Caucasus, to Azerbaijan. Obviously, Azerbaijan can only understand other communication methods besides force.
Our sources say that "the top" knows this. This means there will no longer be a cold war — a trade economic war accompanied by ultimatums and virtual red lines. Moscow will be forced to respond strongly immediately. The situation will become intense.
