Trump, again, has changed his face.

On Friday local time, Trump once again wrote a long essay attacking China and issued a threat of 100% tariffs on China, saying that it would start to be implemented from next month 1st, possibly even earlier, depending on China's attitude.

As soon as the news came out, the world was shocked, the three major US stock indices fell collectively, and the three major A-share indices were not much better, with visible market panic.

Last month, Trump was still interacting with China in various friendly ways, promising to properly resolve the TikTok issue, and easing the tariff war, with the leaders of China and the United States even having a phone call, everything seemed to be heading in a positive direction.

So the question is, what made Trump suddenly erupt and restart the trade war against China?

The reason is simple, the day before, China released new regulations on the export of rare earths. Any foreign product containing even a bit of Chinese rare earths must go through Chinese approval for export.

This precisely hit Trump's trigger point, as the US needs rare earths the most, and China is firmly at the top of the rare earth sector. The US is used to threatening other countries, so whenever they themselves are choked, they tend to become furious, especially someone like Trump who is all show and no substance.

China has always adhered to the principle of harmony in business, but this does not mean that others can do whatever they want. Although the China-US tariff negotiations have been ongoing, the US has not stopped hindering us during this period.

In the recent National Day holiday, the US suddenly announced that starting from the 14th of this month, it will impose "port fees" on Chinese vessels, which everyone can see is intended to suppress China's shipping industry, as Trump has always been obsessed with making the US shipbuilding industry great again.

Facing the unreasonable provocation from the US side, China took decisive action and announced countermeasures against vessels related to the US, imposing special port fees.

There are countless similar examples. Every time Trump and his makeshift team come up with an idea, they think of ways to deal with China, completely ignoring the impact on tariff negotiations, acting as if it were a game, coming up with one idea after another.

Since the other party has taken the initiative, China won't tolerate it. No matter what move they make, we can handle it. On this point, the whole country is united, determined to stand together against external threats.

America is different. To say nothing else, American farmers are almost overflowing with resentment towards Trump, especially soybean farmers, as Chinese buyers have placed no orders this year, and their soybeans are rotting in warehouses and cannot be sold, with the hard work of a year wasted.

Trump says that China will bear the cost of the tariffs, but the data is right there, showing that the US lower class people are the ones who suffer the most. Whether farmers or consumers, they are paying the price for Trump's recklessness.

That is why the US side actively sought peace and started the tariff negotiations. But now, Trump has resorted to the same trick, thinking that a 100% tariff can force China to submit, which is a big miscalculation.

From the perspective of the Chinese people, this is just another display of his helpless rage, and few people believe this measure will last long, it might not take long before he backs down again, changing his mind repeatedly is the norm for Trump, and the nickname "TACO" is not without reason.

It is worth noting that the day Trump announced the additional tariffs on China coincided with the day of the Nobel Peace Prize announcement, which was not surprisingly not awarded to him, which may be the real reason for his breakdown.
