Iran's Supreme National Security Council: Rapid Approval of Vessel Passage Requests Through the Strait of Hormuz
The Iranian Supreme National Security Council has issued instructions requiring the swift approval of vessel passage requests through the Strait of Hormuz, with a gradual increase in traffic volume.
Iran's state-run national broadcasting corporation cited a statement from Iran's National Security Council reporting: "To implement the objectives of the memorandum, the Persian Gulf Service Authority (PGSA) has been instructed to process and respond to (vessel passage) requests quickly and with priority."
The Iranian Supreme National Security Council also emphasized that, given the current special security situation, vessels must transit through the strait only at designated times and along specified routes, as separately announced. The National Security Council stated this measure is necessary to prevent maritime accidents and to gradually increase the volume of traffic.
