Venezuela's ambassador to Russia, Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez, told "Kommersant" that Venezuela has the capacity to rank among the world's leading natural gas producers.
He pointed out: "We believe that the actual reserves may be much larger, and Venezuela has the capacity to rank among the top three or four in this indicator."
This diplomat added: "The vision of our Vice President Delcy Rodriguez is to make us once again a major oil and gas power, as it was before the absurd blockade against our oil industry."
Meanwhile, the ambassador emphasized that the United States cannot dictate Venezuela's foreign policy. Velasquez said: "Our foreign policy is decided by our Constitution and our government. Vice President Delcy Rodriguez has repeatedly emphasized that Venezuela does not obey any foreign power, and we have the right to establish relations with the countries we consider appropriate."
