Foreign media: As China's economic influence in Africa continues to expand, there is a growing job boom for locals who speak Chinese. In the past, Chinese enterprises often brought their own translators to Africa, but now many small and medium-sized Chinese companies prefer local hiring to reduce costs. Meanwhile, African businesses are increasingly participating in Sino-African trade, further driving up demand for Chinese language skills.

Professor Heidi Haugen from the University of Oslo pointed out that the current demand for Chinese language proficiency is more urgent than ever before. LinkedIn recruitment data shows widespread demand for Chinese talent across multiple sectors in Africa, including real estate, mining, hospitality, healthcare, and manufacturing. Most Chinese executives and workers going to Africa are not proficient in local official languages such as English or French, let alone indigenous African languages. This language gap makes Chinese translators a crucial bridge connecting Sino-African business cooperation.
