Trump gave Lee Jin-man his autographed pen, and Lee's wife made a pinky promise with him to play golf together.
South Korean President Lee Jin-man posted: "Last night, I dined with President Trump and had an in-depth, candid conversation lasting about 90 minutes, discussing peace on the Korean Peninsula and Korea-U.S. relations, achieving significant progress. At today’s final luncheon, he gifted me the very pen he has been using all along. I suspect this might be because he remembered that during our first meeting, I had received a pen he once used as a gift. During last night’s dinner, we talked about golf, and he expressed his desire to play with both me and my wife—my wife even made a pinky promise with him. After today’s luncheon, when parting ways, he reiterated that we must definitely play golf together. I initially thought it was just polite talk, but now it seems I really need to prepare seriously. Heartfelt thanks to President Trump for showing us such special care. The Korea-U.S. relationship is strong and enduring."
At this G7 summit, Trump seemed like a completely different person—almost a playful, mischievous old man full of humor, joking and complimenting everyone he met. Perhaps still basking in the joy of turning 80 just recently.
